About Me:
My name is Jazmine Vargas and I am the Sophomore Class President at Tracy High School. As well as last year, I was given the opportunity to hold the position as Freshman Class President. My passion to strength my community as a whole has lead me to become involved in leadership at Tracy High School. My goal with this position is to make every individual on campus feel heard. Along with leadership, I am the Rally Commissioner for the Tracy High Bulldog Project. This club allows people to understand the importance of mental health. My interest for mental health has allowed me to look into the career of a therapist of some sort. I have dealt with bullying throughout my elementary and middle school years. Although my mom is my bestfriend and I tell her everything, I never have felt comfortable to show her my emotions. I want to be able to talk about my life experiences on mental health while being there to support others. Thus, the Bulldog Project gives me a chance to start achieving my goals for my career. Outside of my school activities, I am a dancer at D2M Dance Project. I have been dancing since the age of three. However, this is my first year dancing at a new studio. With this studio I have come to learn that I love Hip-hop. At my old studio it was very technique based, which is very important but I believe that since I have never been able to experience dancing freely while being comfortable, I am now able to find my grove. Dance is so important to me because it has molded me to become the person I am today while being a sport that allows me to express my emotions through movements. Even though all these activities are important to me, my relationship with the Lord and my family is crucial to me. I am a follower of Christ and recently got Baptized on February 27th, 2022. My religion is what people call Christians. However, I like to call myself a follower of Christ because some Christians tend to follow rules and commands strictly, where as the importance is in having a relationship with the Lord and being able to talk to Him no matter the circumstances. Lastly, quality time with my family and boyfriend is vital to me. With Covid-19 I have become closer to my family and I would do anything for them. The bond between my family and boyfriend has created a new goal for my life. That goal is to become a mother with a strong and healthy family/marriage and work towards my dream home. With all of these aspirations in my life, I am and will continue to work hard towards every single one of them

Work History:
I am six-teen years old and am a ballet teacher at D2M and I also help my church with children services. Being able to work with kids has taught me patience's and organization. I have grown to come out of my comfort zone while giving encouraging words to young children. Although I work with kids, I also work with adults such as staff and parents.

Every morning at Jefferson Middle School the principle would say this quote over the announcements. I personally tend to let one negative situation ruin my day. After hearing this quote repeated over and over again, I have applied it to my life. Instead of reminding myself about the negative I talk to the Lord and thank Him for blessing me with another day on earth. Appreciating life has become meaningful to me. I never want to leave saying goodbye to someone in an argument because you never know when your last moment with them will be. Seeing individuals lose their loved ones before resolving a issue has touched my heart and made me afraid to experience that situation. This is why I choose to live my life day by day while appreciating everything I have.
